We recently received the following e-mail from Jenny Williams of the new Radical Discipleship Academy of Appalachia. If you have any insights from your own program experience, feel free to share in the comments or contact Jenny directly at email@example.com. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!
The Summer Week for RDAA went very well. The students grasped the theological concepts and were excited to enter the next year of relationship, study, and service with their Covenant Groups.
As we begin our preparations for next year’s Academy, our planning team has discussed the new issue of integrating next year’s first-time new students with the returning students. In our Academy, a different set of theological concepts will be presented for each of the first three years, so students can reapply. Do you know of other programs who allow return students, and if so are you aware of what they do to integrate students? For example, do the returning students remain in their own covenant groups for the second year and first-year students are placed into new groups, or are the students mixed? If you could point me to directors of programs which are shaped like ours, I’d be grateful.
Peace as you begin this school year!
